Songkran 2014

The most obvious celebration of Songkran is the throwing of water upon others. Thais roam the streets with containers of water or water guns. In addition, many Thais will have small bowls of beige colored talc sold cheaply and mixed with water which is then smeared on the faces and bodies of random passersby as a blessing for the new year. Sometimes this talc is mixed with menthol. City officials close off many sections of the street thoroughfares for the festival disallowing all vehicular traffic save for ice trucks and fire engines which also partake in the watering festivities. These sections typically have makeshift gates manned by police who separate men and women in case of the need for a body search arises if it is suspected that prohibited item are brought into the main watering areas. This protocol prevents the possession of weapons, drug paraphernalia, glass items, or other prohibited items specified by city.

It is very common to have groups of Thais post themselves at the side of roads or corners of intersections with garden hoses or large new plastic trash cans filled with water (typically ice cold) that is used to drench sidewalkers and random vehicles (taxis, cars, motorcycles, tuk tuks) that come within watering range. Although rare, unruly or inebriated individuals are known to throw ice cubes at passersby, an activity frowned upon by all. This sort of festivity, however, was not always the main activity of this festival. Songkran is traditionally a time to visit and pay respects to elders, including family members, friends, neighbors, and monks. The songkran festival is counted as a new life festivity in which many around the world take part in, but mostly focused in the country of Thailand.Besides the throwing of water, people celebrating Songkran as a Buddhist festival may also go to a wat (Buddhist monastery) to pray and give food to monks. They may also cleanse Buddha images from household shrines as well as Buddha images at monasteries by gently pouring water mixed with a Thai fragrance over them. It is believed that doing this will bring good luck and prosperity for the New Year.

Damn..aint it crazy

I have some good news und some bad news.
The good news is, I got hit on! And I haven’t been really hit on like that in a while, yes semi-drunken guys asking to buy me drinks so I'd get real drunk and agree to have pity sex with them. .haha.. but not lamour hit on. Is it good news??
The bad news is that the guy was real genuine. Or maybe that's not bad news.  I dunno. Switch the news perhaps and see what to make of it.
Not too bad looking at all. Very attentive, asking questions. Gave heaps of compliments. All girls like some sweet talk, feel special. And I could tell he was sincere. I've heard a lot working at Rumpan Bar and you can tell when someone wants a shag or actually wants to get to know you.
He asked for my number, and when I turned him down he asked if it had something to do with him specifically. And I said no,  I have someone else.  Someone that better honor certain things.
I just broke it down to him I wasn’t interested. He replied, and I quote:
You suck.”
I suck?
Now don’t get me wrong, there are in fact heaps of ways I suck. For example, I sometimes choose sleep over washing my hair. I do the dishes an hour or so after dinner. I once drove into a pole * Uhm yes i actually did *. I don’t deny sucking on occasion.
But let me tell you this, fuckface, I most certainly do not suck because I messed up your plans. I mean, I get it. Rejection sucks ass. But he seemed as I said genuine. Maybe he got sad? Offended?
I felt bad after.  My friends think Im nuts. This is PHUKET. This is were you let loose if youre single.
I was trying to sound like the guy that yells "this is SPARTA" but i reckon i did a poor job.

And these are the people that has already and will rock up for Songkran. I am sooo excited. I know Rach and I are gonna have the best time.
And I know what she will prescribe for me for my condition....

Hot hot hot

I know I know...I've been horrible at blogging lately. Sorry! I'll try to do better.

I'm still a little bit pinkish but I'm getting better by the day.
Took a beach walk the other day. Soo nice. Brought back so many memories.
I got a tad emotional. Behind my sunnies.

I have been catching up with friends and I have been in patong a few times.

It's rained a couple of times. But mostly sunny and very hot. I'm sweating like a pig. 6 months out of this country and my body gets funny.

Swam for the first time today. Really nice. Surin beach. Surf was high and current was kinda strong. But it was real nice.

Had a night out. Got a bit wankered but so did the rest. So it's all good.

Went out in Nicks new car last night. That dude is insane. The stereo he's put in gave me a back massage. Umph umph umph......

Got fined today. For wrongly parking my scooter. I've parked there for years. But suddenly, close to songkran, they mind it.
So I had to walk in a 1000 degrees heat to the police station.
I smiled and payed. 5 officers didn't believe me when they asked my age. Apperently I'm not older than 26. :)

Pretty good vase
