Beach day

Had a some what sleep in today. That was nice. I was cuddling Razmus all morning and he was so cute when he got outta bed. He leaned over and whispered in my ear to stay in bed and relax. How cute is that?! 

Had a couple of different options on the to do list today. We ended up at Kamala beach. It was so nice to take a walk on the beach. The sun was shining and it was really hot. ( I loove ) music in my ears and thoughts just cleared. 

The ocean was beautiful. For this time of the year. The boys stayed in the water for ages. I went for a swim. First time in a while. It was nice. 

Went to work to use a computer ( mine got stolen remember. And NO they have not caught the fucker ) and put some pic on my hard drive. 

Went home and made dinner. It was wonderful to eat home made food. I'm really sick of the food at work now hey. 

The boys are going back to Sweden in 10 days. It sucks at the same time as its gonna be nice to have some time alone. 

They haven't had many friends to play with. Most of their old friends have left. So I understand that they want to see their friends in Sweden. I miss my friends in Sweden. A lot. Especially now. 

I spoke to an Aussie friend and he is coming back here soon. 

Jennie just left but I miss her anyway. Things went down that I didn't expect. And she was an amazing friend to me. Lots of love coming your way Jennie. 

Mother's Day

Today's Mother's Day in Thailand. It is also the Thai queens birthday. So all the bars are closed throughout Thailand. 

Which I'm sure all the bar girls of Thailand is very happy for. For numerous reasons. I bet you can think of at least one. 

Mother's Day is a celebration honoring mothers and motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society. It is celebrated on various days in many parts of the world. 

In Thailand, 12th of August is celebrated as the birthday of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit. As the Queen is also regarded as mother to all Thai people, this day is also celebrated as ‘Mother’s Day. The celebrations for the Queen and for mother are being held every year without cease since 1976.

A few weeks before Mother’s Day, people all around the country raise national flags and the blue flags which is the flag of the queen, also houses are decorate with the portrait of the Queen. This is their way of expressing their loyalty and honor to her.

Similarly, local organizations are bedecked with her portraits, garlands, and colorful lights. 

Thai people also take this day as an opportunity to thank our dear mothers for her unconditional love. Mother’s day morning in Thailand starts by giving alms to the monks. Following the Thai tradition, kids kneel down before their mother to show their love and gratitude. They present her with white jasmine flowers or garlands, in return, mother gives her blessings on kids. On this day, white jasmine flowers are a common sight in Thailand as they are the symbol of maternal love. The white color of the flower symbolizes purity of mother’s true love, which will never change. Charitable activities, donations, offering to monks are also an important part of the day to express child’s love and gratitude towards mother.

I think this is a sweet tradition which the western world should copy. 

Unfortunately I don't have a mother to speak of. But if I did I would honor her as best I could. 

My own children thinks this day is fake since its not the same as in Sweden.
