With anticipation and some hesitation I checked in my luggage at landvetter. The lady looked grumpy and asked for my passport. I had a million things going through my mind. I was scared my glögg bottles would bust and stain all my clothes, in which I'd be totally fucked. She even checked in my carry-on. I've flown a lot but I do not recall that ever happen to me. Oh well. In the moment I agreed which I now regret. I had thought the packing through so well and in an instant It got away from me. I really hope nothing breaks, gets lost or stolen.
AirBerlin is not too bad actually. As most of you know I'm terrified of flying. But as of late I really don't give a damn. If I gave in to my fears I would get no where. In life and in travelling. (Children...I love you dearly. Always remember that. )
I'm currently at Abu Dhabi's excellent airport. Wifi here rules. The charging of any devices, in this case my iPhone, does not. I'm typing this while holding my charger with the other hand. Or pressing it really. But I'm up on 86% now so that should do. It's another hour and a half before my flight takes off. So what to do?
I might sitt and pig out in the potato chips I brought. At 4am in the morning. It's 7am here tho. So brekkie??
I don't wanna sit down either because I am going to be sitting for the next 5-6 hours.
Lord have mercy.
Good news is I started to watch a new series. "Vikings" thank you AirBerlin for providing that.
Hmmm...nature calls.
I'd rather take a pee in the airport than the plane toilet.
Question remains....what to eat?!
Update.
Ended up eating the potato chips while surfing on my laptop, sitting down on the airport floor.
Plane ride went well from Abu Dhabi to Phuket. Couldn't really sleep but I dozed on and off.
At Phuket airport I had to speak Thai for the first time in months. To the immigration officer. It was a bit rusty to say the least. He was going through my passport and saw I've stayed here for a long time and he figured I picked up on Thai. So he was asking me if I had a thai boyfriend and what I was doing here this time etc. In a nice way. So we laughed a little and he let me through.
My luggage was OK. No broken bottles or anything. YAY!
Sussy were supposed to pick me up. So I was looking for a Thai girl with blonde hair. Can't miss that.
But instead of Sussy, Denise came *Sussys cousin*. Sussy was getting her hair fried at a salon in Thalang.
I ended up driving the car, in the dark, slep-deprived and hungry. Not the greatest combination. But I did, since Denise was uncomfortable with driving. We picked up Sussy and went to Nick's. That's where I'm staying. He has been so super nice to let me crash at his. Thanx Nick, you are amazing.
Just had time to drop my stuff off and shower before I got picked up again. Straight to Nick's bar in Kamala and had wine. Played some pool and went to Patong.
Massive night. Shots and drinks and wine...It was nice to see everyone again.
Heaps of hugs and quick catch up's as we went from bar to bar.
Next day Nick took me into Patong to get Thongs. Sure...I love high heels but I do not want to wear them all the time. We went to Big C and got some food too. I had dinner with Bettan and Lena later that evening..or night actually. Lena is having a baby in 2 months and you cant even tell she's preggers. Unfair.
Lena...you look beautiful girl!!
Yesterday I hung out with Sussy and Denise. Sussy's going back to Sweden so she did some last minute shopping. Had brunch at Wine Connection. Nice to just chill out and girltalk.
Later I went by my old hotel job and said hi to some people. And then Nick picked me up and we drove to Chalong. I LOVE to drive around in the sun. I needed that just this day as this day was a very sad day for me. Relaxing and just soaking the rays. I got a tad sunburnt. I am the whitest girl in Phuket atm.
Wow...long post. I better split it in two.
Post pt 2 tomorrow.
