Swedish Melody Festival

Tonight ladies and gentlemen it is the first melody festival show *of many*. Highlight of the year. I get to bring out the drag queen in me. No amount of glitter is enough, no dress can be too sparkly or heels to high. So I'm off to a mate and he better have some pink drinks lined up for me.

So in honor of this remarkable and extravagant evening I have selected some songs from previews shows that I think are great and some that really represents the essence of this show. The bigger the better. Kinda like Fran Fines hair.

This is the very essence of this competition. I think this group is amazing. I wish I could have as great legs as her. Iv'e seen them live so I know they are great legs. LOL

She's singing in Greek but Oh my DAAAMN I love this song.

This song represents the 80's in a nutshell. Songtitle is kinda awesome too.
Love or hate the 80's but you sure looked like an ass.

This song I choose to share with you because of the lyrics. Not only does Linda sing like a goddess she is touching my heart. This song relates to how I was feeling a few months ago. You know when you make up your mind on someone and then something happens you never saw coming.

I chose this just for the fact I think the song kicks ass. And they have the glam rock look going on.

Don't really know what to say about this song. It kind of speaks for itself. He is honoring Sweden in a very funny way with his immigrant Swedish accent.
LOVE!!

And here are my homeboys. I remember sitting in Sports club, Phuket, feeling so proud of them. I cannot describe the feeling I had after they performed  I cheered and jumped around screaming with joy. I absolutely love this song. Lyrics and music both.
I really am so proud of them. Tynnereds finest. Go Zandro and Dead by April!!!!!

This girl entered the competition 1983 at the age of 16. She won. She is Sweden's festival queen.
Every household knows who she is.
She's been in the competition numerous times. And won too.

ABBA!!! No more needs to be said.

And the winner of 2012 ESC!!
Loreen is fantastic.

Oh my, I better stop now. But there are so many more I wanna show you.

I better get ready.

When words fail, music speaks....

This song is written years and years ago by Eldkvarn, a Swedish prog band. And a couple of years ago Petra Marklund aka September did a cover on this fantastic song.
I love it, not only for what she is singing about ( I couldnt say it better myself atm ) but the music itself. Her version is so much better than the original.

This next song is sung in Swedish. My parents listened to this song...or Artist actually when I was little. I got major flash backs of my dad just then. My parents are not your typical normal parents. I was raised knowing of injustice and taking social responsibilities. Speaking up and challenge those who pray on the weak.

This song is about a beautiful peasant girl. She is walking to the market to sell bread and a knight sees her and decides to rape her. Maria kills him after the rape and she gets stoned to death while the knight gets a yearly memorial celebration. The knight was considered a hero and the girl a tart.

Men think they can do whatever they feel like and get away with it. There are consequences for everything you do. Or rewards.... Remember that!!

This next Swedish artist, Darin, hooked up with Kat De Luna in this awesome song.
Every girl want to have a guy like what Darin is singing about. I had that not too long ago. But shit got real and now it's possibly too late. Is it ever too late to try and save or repair lost love? Is it?
I've been pondering on that question a while now. Guess I'll find out soon enough.

This is not from a Swedish artist. They are from England. Manchester??
I got this song sent to me. And everyone knows I am a huge lyrics junkie. When words fail, music speaks. Sometimes your point comes across better with a song. Or message. Or what you want someone to think about or know.

Life in Thailand

Had such a great time walking down memory lane with making the Aussie video that I decided to show you guys more of my life in Thailand. And you get to see a little bit more of who I am.
The video got to be 3 songs long. I had to really narrow it down. Could easily be 5 songs long.

And before any of you crack the shits about party pictures, I'd like to say that I worked at a bar in Phuket's infamous Bangla road for a few months. It does not mean I drank every time when at work. So all you righteous folk..don't have a cow hey.

Hopefully you understand why I loved living in Thailand.
Had I not fallen in love and all that came with it, I most likely would of stayed.
For a while longer. With my boys of course.

Enjoy the video!!
